Welcome to the 3rd annual Parachute Foundation Charity Curling Championships. This event is a curling fundraiser to support the Parachute Foundations’ mission to financially support the Parachute Foundation Emergency Assistance Fund at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. For more information on who we impact please visit our website at www.parachutefoundation.org and click the tab Parachute Project.

Here’s how this works:

12 teams of 8 curlers ( or more ) over two sessions will learn how to curl through instruction for 30 minutes, then in a fun competition curl against each other. Curling team members commit to each raise $250.00 towards a team goal of $2000.00 per team. Each team has a curling skipper who recruits fundraising curlers to join the team. Team members will reach out via e-mail or other social media to family, friends, and others in their network to solicit donations towards the cause. We will create a website like last year identifying The Team Name/Curlers on the team and a donate button for each curling team member. We will also create a link so each curler can direct family, friends, etc, to the site. Once a donor locates the team the curler is on they can scroll down to the curler they want to donate to. Once there, they click the pledge button and donate. All donations are tax-deductible and your donor will receive a receipt for their donation via e-mail. We will also create a spreadsheet so you can say thank you to those that donate towards your goal.

This year there will be prizes for the top 3 teams who raise the most money towards our mission.

Chip and I want to sincerely thank each curling skipper/your teams and especially your donors for stepping up to support our mission of supporting families in financial hardship at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital via The Parachute Foundation’s Emergency Assistance Fund. This fund helps families in financial hardship pay for the ancillary out-of-pocket expenses they don’t expect and can’t afford like hotel lodging, food, gas, parking fees, etc.
